Arctic Circle ABOUT US
“Winners of the Institute of Engineering and Technology innovation award for Energy and Refrigeration Innovation of the Year in the Cooling Industry Awards with the ‘Arctic Optimiser™’ as well as receiving three apprentice awards including Engineering Technician of the Year in the HWGTA Apprentice Awards.
The IET judging panel commented: “The Arctic Optimiser is a simple, inexpensive and passive system designed to enhance the efficiency of existing and new vapour compression refrigeration systems. Its “fit and forget” coupled with real “everyday” energy savings make it an obvious winner.”
The company was set up in 1985 and is currently managed by a team of Directors who value the independence and long-term strategic decision making capacity that being privately owned gives them.
Our Directors believe that the company has an obligation to relate the global issues affecting us all to their own market place, and then demonstrate how, through innovation, the products produced and services provided can reduce energy consumption and reduce CO2 emissions. This philosophy sets a benchmark by which all future product innovation is assessed.
We have established a reputation for innovative solutions and have grown consistently to become the undisputed market leader in innovation. This has been recognised by :
- The first ever World Bank contract for technology transfers for semi-hermetic refrigeration compressors under the Montreal protocol
- Appointed United Nations Industrial Development Organisation consultants for refrigeration compressors
- The first compressor manufacturer to obtain energy technology listing for the ECA scheme
- The recipients of numerous awards covering product innovation, training and development, and corporate citizenship
We are committed to the training and development of our staff, this includes providing full four-year Engineering Apprenticeship placements in Electrical and Mechanical disciplines. Foundation Degree's are available to those who show the commitment and motivation to succeed. By investing in our staff we are also investing in the people who will have the skills and ideas to continue to develop the business in the future.
